The PDP-B series detectors consist primarily of a scintillator, a photomultiplier tube, an electronics module, a Mylar film, a steel mesh and an aluminium housing. The electronics module comprises a flexible combination of voltage divider, high-voltage supply, pre-amplifier and digitiser units.
The scintillator can be configured for single α or single β measurement, or for dual scintillation (α and β). Dimensions can be customised to suit user requirements. The optical structure is generally of the cavity type, though a PMMA light-guiding assembly is also available. The diverse range of output signals ensures the detectors can meet user requirements across a variety of application scenarios.
